Capital Celebrates ISO Audit Success

The ISO standard is used by organisations to demonstrate their ability to consistently provide products and services that meet customer and regulatory requirements.

The audit, which was carried out by TUV Rheinland in August, means Capital’s ISO 9001:2015 certification has been approved for another year.

Achieving the quality ISO standard demonstrates Capital’s continued capability to meet the needs of customers through an effective quality management system.

Mike Grimson, Quality Manager at Capital Refractories Ltd said: “While this is a really good result, Capital is always striving to make improvements that exceed the requirements of the standard.”

The audit report, in particular, commended staff for ‘engaging positively’ during the interviewing process, highlighting the company’s desire to embrace the standard at all levels.

Mike Grimson added: “I would like to say a big thank you to Craig Maisfield, Stuart Wilson, Lynsey West, Mike Lamkin, Chris Wragg, Chris Bartley, Paul Elvin and Susan Battison for their contribution to the audit.

“I would also like to say a big thank you to everyone who has been involved in bringing our systems together to achieve this great result.”

James Newsome, Group Managing Director at Capital Refractories Ltd said: “TUV is a rigorous and thorough auditing body, so to pass their quality audit with no non-conformities raised at all is indeed a significant achievement and reflects the continuing improvements in our company’s quality culture – I am absolutely delighted with this result and I’d like to congratulate the whole team at Clowne for their dedication.”

Capital has a prominent association with industry accolades being one of the first refractory companies to be accredited to the original BS 5750 standard. Quality management systems have also been in place at the company since 1991.

This most recent audit result shows Capital’s continued commitment to ensuring quality whilst providing the best possible service to all customers across the globe.
