Capital Refractories has recently enhanced its package to its customers by acquired the assets of Coils &
Cables Limited and is now able to offer foundries induction furnace coil supply and repair.
The newly formed division of Coils & Cables is equipped to carry out on-site emergency call-out for water leaks,
mechanical damage, metal penetration, earth leakage problems and coil screeding.
Coil repair and refurbishment can also be carried out at the well equipped works conveniently based in the West Midlands.
Coils & Cables also supply water cooled power cables, copper busbars and related insulators and fittings for induction
furnaces and related equipment.
Coils
The skilled industry-trained engineers at Coils & Cables offer both a repair and replacement service.
We aim to work with you to minimise disruption and downtime.
We can repair damage caused under many circumstances, such as: water leakage, mechanical damage and metal penetration.
We can also repair coild posts and rescreed the coil.
Wherever possible we will carry out the repair in suitable area of the foundry so as to minimise the repair time.
However, sometimes it may be necessary to perform the repair at ourwell-equipped facility in the West Midlands.
We can manufacture new coils based on your drawing or from your existing coil.
Cables
Coils and Cables can cater for all your water-cooled cable needs.
Our expertise means that we can either manufacture new cables or repair old ones.
This flexibility means that we can manufacture cables to any length for all major furnace types.
Our policy is not to compromise on quality and always use the best available materials.
This may be more expensive but it will more than pay for itself in terms of performance and longevity.
We offer a choice of materials to protect from metal damage:
- Standard finish
- Glass-braided sleeving for temperatures up to about 500°C.
- Superior aerospace grade sleeving for temperatures up to 1100°C.
- Specialist fireblanket materials for special applications.
We also manufacture a wide range of related items:
- Busbars with installation/maintenance service agreements.
- Water manifolds.
- Arc furnace electrode clamps.
- Quality insulatin maerial.
- Laminated cores.

The Coils & Cables division is not yet included in the ISO 9001 : 2000 accreditation but is managed to that standard
with an anticipated incorporation late 2006.
