Capital has introduced a range of castables for aluminium melting and holding. The products are marketed under the Capiral, Capisil, Capflow and Capilight names and are produced using high grade raw materials. They are designed to cope with the most demanding applications and are suitable for all areas of melting and holding furnaces, ladles and launders. We also supply dry vibration rammables for corelss induction furnaces. All of our aluminium materials have undergone extensive, rigorous testing and many have achieved customer approval including those used by Pechiney (now part of the Alcan group). We can offer a team of experienced engineers to install these linings. Our castables are in service at a number of primary and secondary melters.

Capital recommend that specialised refractories are used within particular areas of the melting furnace. Some areas within this furnace will be subjected to high impact, thermal shock, high temperatures and abrasion. Such arduous conditions mean that dense castables are necessary for the hot face/metal contact areas. Insulating layers back up the castables, using a system developed over many years that is proven to give superior insulation. Areas such as the roof are less demanding - here the requirements are for resilience against limited aluminium contact and greater thermal insulation. This zoned approach to installing the best product for the respective areas is more cost effective in terms of performance and running costs than a one product for all approach.
